I've recently bought a Thomson Freeview recorder box -- maybe not as good as Sky+, but if you don't opt for a Sky channel, Rupert Murdoch charges you £10 a month for the priviledge of recording on the box.So, the Thomson version is an adequate replacement if you can live without Sky Sports, although why they ask you to leave it on Channel 5 for its first hour of use is beyond me. Do they have a deal to boost audience figures?
