Did I really just hear that?

Winton -- looking prettyOn Saturday's Jonathan Ross Radio 2 show, Mark Lamarr was sitting in, accompanied by odd bed-fellow, Dale Winton. Here's a snippet of their conversation:

DW: Oh no. it was much earlier than that.
ML: No, I meant 1984, the book.

A story about Freedom Leisure/Goldsmiths

The leisure centre in Crowborough, of which Mr X has been a member of for over seven years, has organised a five-a-side football tournament. Mr X paid his £25 for a team weeks ago, yet on the day before the tournament, was told that there has been a mix-up. Despite paying, the centre had no record of the team, so said his team of seven players couldn't play. Bizarrely, the staff have two teams which have had no problem entering.Steve Collins

How to make Engerland play better at the World Cup...

... give them a proper nickname.

It's worked for Australia (aka the Socceroos), through to the second round.

It's done the trick for Trinidad and Tobago (aka the Soca Warriors), who got to their first ever finals.

OK, let's forget about Jamaica (aka the Reggae Boyz).
